Is there any type of program that can change avi mpg or other vidoe files into the one that is compatible w ipod video? If so where can I get this program?

mp4, mov, and m4v. the most common one is mp4, there is a free program that converts other videos to mp4 format called Videora iPod Converter, you can get that free at http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ . hope that helps.

its mp4 i guess..u may get softwares but iam not sure whether u get it for free or not.

The rule of thumb is if you can open the file in Quicktime, it can be Played and converted in iTunes.
Once you have gotten the file to play in QT, import it in to your iTunes Video Library.
Then right click (control click on a mac with out right click) on the video you want to play on your iPod and choose "convert selected song/file to iPod"
wait a bit for it to be formatted, an there you go, a free way to convert your video files

only mpeg4, mp4, mv4. you have to convert all other video files, such as avi, wmp, wav, mov, etc into these files. you can use any converter you find on the internet so its good.
