rockbox is awsome. I’ve turned my sansa e250 mp3 into something close to an ipod (and added 4 GB of mem)

dumb question (because i do own an iPod Nano 3rd Gen), but can you get Rockbox For the Zvue by Handheld (not the Zune)?

I wish I could use it on my 2gen iPod nano:(

as long as you sync when in your apple firmware, but to play the newly added, you just have to update the rockbox database. it basically just searches for your music.

If I use put rockbox on my ipod will I be able to sync music back onto it using mac?

I had rockbox on my Archos Jukebox Studio and now my Iriver. Rockbox has some better options and I think its easier to navigate than the factory firmware.

no all you have to do is turn your ipod on and push lock before it does. it will go back to the main screen

FM radio would of course require an FM receiver… which is of course hardware. NO software or firmware will EVER be able to add this feature without extra hardware.
by graystig, on August 3 2009 @ 7:01 pm
No.
by graystig, on August 3 2009 @ 7:01 pm

I keep hearing people say “open source” repeatedly when talking about Rockbox but who really cares when it’s such a cumbersome interface and used primarily on portables that on not even made anymore? Does anyone actually have a running MRobe player? I tried Rockbox for about two days on my iPod 5.5G Video and it was bloody awful. I felt like I had stepped back in time to 2001. Talk about UGLY, even with themes. The interface is junk also. Sorry, but give me closed source if it works…

no, you hold down the middle and menu buttons untill the apple logo shows up, then you slide the lock thingy over to boot into the origional firmware. duh
