At staples I saw some sort of program that allows you to download your dvd movies and use them on your iPod. It’s like so I wanted to ask you guys first before I bought it. Has anyone tried this??? Will it work w/ iPod nano w/ video???

It depends. The iPods can only play .mp4 and Quicktime .mov, so, I would read the fine print to make sure that it can rip the DVD’s in those formats. But Beware. A fullsize DVD is 4.7 Gigabytes. Oh, if you google (or ‘yahoo’) it you might find some free software: http://www.share2.com/dvdripper/
