I bought the 1st gen iPod touch and am trying to update it to the new software. Everytime i try downloading it an error message comes up saying: There was a problem downloading the iPod software. You do not have permission to access the requested resource. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active.
Any ideas as to what i can do?

There is a post on the apple forums that announces a server overload resulting from massive downloads of the 2.2 upgrade software. The support tech advises to keeping trying over the next 48 hours.

Same shit happened to me … smh the ipod help number is 1800 692 7753 .. if that helps any.. they take forever nd 2moro to answer , but they are a great help….. sometimes.
