It will not work, because you don’t change the format by changing the file extension. iPod doesn’t support the AVI format even if you assign it an mp3 extension
iTunes though does support AVI.

people, just show your hidden file extensions off of your “My Documents” folder and rename your videos .avi to
.mp4 and then sync it 2 iTunes.

try dragging your videos to where your ipod is under the Devices categorie, no sync required it should automatically do it itself.

you don’t have – there is a free version.

The problem is in the video format. If you ‘re using Basic, you have and AVI file as output. You can add it to your iTunes, but you can’t sync it with iPod nor iPhone, you need MP4. Mp4 is only available in the PRO version.

I’ve got them in my itunes library, but it won’t sync on to my ipod, i’d be willing to buy, but is there an easier way?
by clipextractor, on September 9 2009 @ 11:34 pm
no, the free version can’t. You need PRO for iPod.

by clipextractor, on September 9 2009 @ 11:34 pm
you can put an MP4 or MOV file to your iPod. You can’t put an AVI. You need the PRO version to download movies as MP4 or MOV.

iPod classic can play mp4 and mov files, that you can get in Clip Extractor Pro. AVI files from basic version are not supported by iPod.
