I’m really close to buying a video iPod and I was wondering if anyone has tried downloading TV shows from iTunes and watching them on a TV through the iPod universal dock. Does the video look okay? Is it normal TV quality?

I don’t believe you can rip Itunes music store video to DVD’s under their fair use policy. The video off Itunes is slightly lower spec than standard def TV but as usable from what I have heard. So if you are used to HD you could be disappointed but it does the job.

Don’t waste your money on the universal dock. Start writing movies to DVD’s. I’m sure since the videos are compressed, they’re not that good.

Simply use your question as a search subject and try doing an internet search and/or just search Yahoo answers. You might be surprised to find the answer that you’ve been looking for -at least in the meantime while you are waiting for the right answer (or perhaps just a confirmation to the answer you’ve found) here…

No.
iTunes videos are made to look okay on an iPod’s tiny screen, and that’s it.
They are sized at 320×240. On a TV that’ll only look as good as a VHS tape would, and that’s at the absolute best.
