How do I restore my old iPod software?

I recently downloaded the 4.0 software version for my iPod touch, 2nd generation. I want the 3.0 software back because the new one does not allow me to play the iPod from my stereo, which worked beautifully with the 3.0 software but not the 2nd generation software. Any ideas?

    http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware select your firmware from that site
    open itunes
    put your ipod into dfu mode
    restore it to 3.0 :)
