My iMac died recently and had to be sent back to Apple for a repair. My iMac was not backed up so I lost everything. I still have the music on my iPod and I was wondering if anyone knew how I could transfer the music back onto the iMac? Thanks!

There are some ways to do it… I found an archived discussion on Apple’s support site that outlines it pretty well. I’d suggest read through it and try some of the tools they mention.

I don’t believe that you can because apple tries to prevent people from loaning their ipod to a friend and downloading all their music to their computer. But I’m not 100% sure.

hiya hun,
well i managed to do it on my computer but that was a windows vista,
however you can try it might still work i dont know.
if you plug you Ipod in it will come up something like sync and erase? cancel this.
Tick the box in the summary that says enable disk use and click apply..
then go to my computer it will be a removable disk im assumin i know nothing about imacs.
when you get into the file it may say ipod control or sumat where u can get ur music if not go to organise i think it is and click show hidden files and it should be thereee.
