Free ipod software that allows me to copy music from ipod to PC?

Hi,
iTunes does not allow me to copy from my ipod to PC and also it messes up my ipod if I connect to multiple PCs. I am looking for a free software that can allow me to transfer files from ipod to PC with ease. And I want to be able to do this on different PCs.
