   look under the ‘ipod and iphone’ section and select Ipod 2gen. 3.1.2

    it will but after the “connect to itunes” picture appears, i just get a black screen. mine is supposedly tethered, but i dont exactly know how to do that.

    You don’t go into DFU mode to run redsn0w, that just won’t work. Go into recovery mode (just follow the instructions on the screen) instead.

    A box that says unlock? That’s odd…that shouldn’t be there. Not really sure about that.

    i have to go in to DFU mode its the only opition (oh and when picking the opition u want for the ipod i have a box that says unlock)

    You go into recovery mode for redsn0w, not DFU mode. Are you having problems with using DFU mode or recovery?

    you know after u check off the stuff u want
    i have to go in to DFU mode but in other tutorials u have to go in to recovery mode
    and when i do if freezes when it trys to reboot the device can u help me
